The Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole has sacked Abdul Oroh, the commissioner for commerce and industry in the state.

His appointment was terminated with immediate effect, Vanguard reports. No reason was given for the termination of his appointment, though a statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Peter Okhiria, said it was “in the public interest”.

Governor Oshiomhole approved the appointment of Kerry Emokpare as commissioner-designate in the state.

The governor thanked Oroh for his invaluable services to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Oroh had earlier served in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources before he was moved to the commerce ministry.
