MMM Nigeria: Reps To Probe Ponzi Scheme Operations

The House of Representatives has mandated its committee on banking and currency and financial crimes to investigate the operations of the internet based wonder bank, known as “MMM Nigeria scheme”.
This resolution was adopted by the House after debating a motion sponsored by Representative Saheed Akinade-Fijabi on the need to check the scheme which he says is capitalizing on the high level of poverty in the land.
The lawmakers also observed that every Nigerian participating in the MMM scheme which has no legal backing is vulnerable to losing their investment as there is no identifiable platform to guarantee the security of the invested funds.
The senators recalled that many Nigerians had been victims of similar schemes in the past, all in the name of making quick money.
The joint committee has four weeks to report back to the House.

Anti-Trump Protests Break Out Across American Cities

There were protests in cities across the United States on Wednesday against Republican Donald Trump’s surprise presidential election win.

This is in spite of defeated Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton having conceded and urged Americans to support President-elect, Donald trump, in ensuring sustainable development and ultimately a united America.
In New York, thousands of protesters filled streets in midtown Manhattan as they made their way to Trump Tower, Trump’s gilded home on Fifth Avenue. Hundreds of others gathered at a Manhattan park and shouted “Not my president.”
A demonstration of about 6,000 people blocked traffic in Oakland, California, police said. Protesters threw objects at police in riot gear, burned trash in the middle of an intersection, set off fireworks and smashed store front windows.
Police responded by throwing chemical irritants at the protesters, according to a Reuters witness.
In downtown Chicago, an estimated 1,800 people gathered outside the Trump International Hotel and Tower, chanting phrases like “No Trump! No KKK! No racist USA.”
Chicago police closed roads in the area, impeding the demonstrators’ path. There were no immediate reports of arrests or violence there.
“I’m just really terrified about what is happening in this country,” said 22-year-old Adriana Rizzo in Chicago, who was holding a sign that read: “Enjoy your rights while you can.”
In Seattle, police responded to a shooting with multiple victims near the scene of anti-Trump protests. Police said it was unrelated to the demonstrations.
Protesters railed against Trump’s campaign pledge to build a wall along the border with Mexico to keep immigrants from entering the United States illegally.
Hundreds also gathered in Philadelphia, Boston and Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday evening, and organizers planned rallies in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Oakland, California.
In Austin, the Texas capital, about 400 people marched through the streets, police said.
A representative of the Trump campaign did not respond immediately to requests for comment on the protests.
Trump in his Victory speech earlier on Wednesday, had  promised to uphold a united America and reclaim the nation’s destiny when he takes over.
He promised to be president for all Americans, saying: “It is time for us to come together as one united people.”
He also praised Clinton saying: “Hillary fought very hard. She has worked very long and hard over a long period of time. We have a sense of gratitude for her service”.
Donald Trump is set to become the 45th President of the United States as he won with 289 electoral college seats as against Clinton’s 218.
The Republican candidate won key battleground states – Florida, North Carolina and Ohio.

The Top 7 Types Of Nigerians You Will Find On Instagram

Nigerians will always find a way to get their best out of everything, Instagram which is the best photo sharing social application in the world is filled with different types of people in the world. But when it comes to Instagram Nigeria, then there are exclusive types of people you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
Here are the types of people you will see on Instagram Nigeria:
1.The Foodie/Chef:
These ones are only there to intimidate yo with the pictures of their new delicacy, They always flood your page with interesting pictures of food that would make you receive the divine feeling of getting hungry immediately.
2.The Comedians/Clowns:
These ones are only there to upload  short comedy videos, they will crack you up and make you laugh out loud. People often know many of their usernames offhand. But some are not even funny as they can’t even make a happy person laugh, probably their family and friends are the only one who laughs at their dry comedies.
3. The Fashionistas:
OMG! These ones will make you look at your wardrobe to burn all your clothes, They only upload pictures of them in dazzling and expensive outfits. They look like celebrities. They have popular captions they add to their pictures, e.g s#dope #slay and many more English words turn slang.
4.Make Up Freaks:
These ones are naturally ugly, pardon me for using the word ‘ugly’. But with the help of some heavy make ups, they become angel with spotless skin suddenly. Many at times, they put the picture of them without make up beside the one they’ve done the make up to show you the power of their new transformation.
5.Love Birds:
I pray these ones make heaven. Because they will only be intimidating you with pictures of them and their lovers in hot intimate mood, that would leave you wan to cry to God to answer your prayer as you are also single and searching.
6.Travelers:
I don’t understand how someone will upload a picture now and the location will show Lagos, and few minutes later they upload another picture and show Abuja. Moments later another location will show, I just pray one day, they don’t land in Sambisa.
7. Entrepreneurs:
You will have to check their accounts back to a year ago before you can see their real pictures. They only fllod their accounts with pictures of the products they sell. They can upload 50 pictures at a time. What annoys me most is that they don’t add price to heir products even if you have interest in buying them, you would have to add them via whatsapp or BBM to talk to them so later they will keep disturbing your life with BC messages.

Wole Soyinka Confirms He Will Tear His Green Card On Day Trump Will Be Sworn In (Read Details)

Professor Wole Soyinka has confirmed that he will keep his word and tear his green card, on the day Donald Trump is sworn in as the 45th president of the USA.
Soyinka made the vow last week, while giving a speech to students of Oxford University in England.
According to the literary icon: “If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that.
“The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up.”
Trump won the US presidential election early this morning in an incredible victory that has shocked pundits and observers all around the world
Following backlash from Reno Omokri and Nigerians , the Nobel Laureate has spoken for the first time since the results of the elections were announced.‎
Excerpts of his interview with The Interview Magazine below:
Did Donald Trump’s victory surprise you?
Not altogether. The possibility was looming nearer and nearer, getting scarier and scarier.
What do you think Trump’s victory means for the world, especially Nigeria?
It’s brought an already teetering world closer to the precipice.
Do you think the victory of Trump, who threatened to build a Wall is a coincidence coming exactly 27 years to the day the Berlin Wall came down?
Trump’s Wall is already under construction. Walls are built in the mind, and Trump has erected walls, not only across the mental landscape of America but across the global landscape. I am glad you referred to the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall – that was one anniversary in reversal!
Will you thrash your green card, as you reportedly said you would?
Come January 20, 2017, watch my WOLEXIT! (Donald Trump will be sworn-in as the 45th President of the United States of America on Friday, January 20, 2017)
At what point did it occur to you that Trump’s victory was inevitable?
As Election Day approached, the specter became near palpable. I refused to switch on the television this morning until I had stiffened myself with a strong espresso. I felt disaster in my marrow.

Headies 2016: Lil Kesh goes head to head with Olamide for ‘Best Rap Album’

The duo's albums, 'Yagi' and 'Eyan Mayweather' will face off against Falz's 'Stories That Touch' and Illbliss' 'Powerful', released in 2015, in the non-voting category.
Lil Kesh
will be competing against his mentor Olamide for The Headies 2016 ‘Best Rap Album’ award.

The duo’s albums, Yagi and Eyan Mayweather will face off against Falz‘s Stories That Touchand Illbliss‘ Powerful released in 2015, in the non-voting category.
In what was Olamide’s fifth album in five years, Eyan Mayweather was released in November last year and had ID Cabasa, Young John, B Banks and Pheels as producers.
Y.A.G.I dropped in March 2016 and is Lil Kesh’s debut project since he left YBNL to float his record label.
The album was however believed to have been overshadowed by Olamide’s ‘Who U Epp’ single that went on to get covered by over 15 Nigerian artistes including Ruggedman andReminisce.
Falz’s sophomore album, which was released in November 2015, had the rapper’s hit tracks including ‘Ello Bae’, ‘Clap’, ‘Celebrity Girlfriend’ and ‘Soldier’ featuring Simi.

Dear Davido, your boy Mayorkun didn’t get any HEADIES nomination!

Davido had stated early in the year that he would pull a Kanye at this year's Headies if his newly signed act, Mayorkun doesn't win the NEXT RATED category.

So much for Davido‘s plan to pull a Kanye at this year’s Headies if his newly signed act, Mayorkun doesn’t win the NEXT RATED category.

News flash! Mayorkun didn’t even get nominated in ANY category.
Remember in 2015, Davido advised YBNL’s Lil Kesh to ‘pull a Kanye’ at the Headies if he doesn’t walk home with ‘Next Rated Award’. Well, Olamide did it for him and the rest is history.

Now Davido’s January 10, 2016 tweet will haunt him for a long time

As it stands, Mayorkun may have to scramble for the spoils by hustling to get in the race for the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category and mobilise his fans to vote for him to stand any chance of smiling home with an award at the 2016 Headies otherwise, he’ll have to wait till next year.

Dangote To Employ Another 250,000 Nigerians

Nigeria’s multinational conglomerate, The Dangote Group has announced that it will create 250,000 employment opportunities for Nigerians after the completion of its new projects.
According to the executive director (communications) of the group, Ahmed Mansur, the company’s investments on new projects on agriculture, sugar, oil refinery and fertilisers would create the jobs.
Mansur also stated that the projects would be cited in Jigawa, Taraba, Kano and Kogi states among others.
Mansur who was addressing journalists in Abuja today, November 8 said the group will encourage self-sufficiency in food production and reduce capital flight from Nigeria.
He also said the company’s cement production was expected to grow from its current 40 million tonnes to between 75 million and 80 million tonnes in 2020, adding that projected estimates show that the cement arm of the company will produce 40 million tonnes from the total figure.
Mansur however commended the federal government’s efforts at diversifying the economy, especially through agriculture and solid mineral, adding that the policy was a sustainable and inclusive direction for economic growth.
Meanwhile, proprietor of the Dangote Group, Alhjai Aliko Dangote has suggested that the power sector privatisation should be reversed.
According to Dangote, the privatisation was done wrongly, adding that the problems in the power sector has persisted despite the policy which was initiated by the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
Dangote further stated that the beneficiaries of the privatisation policy lack understanding of the complexities of the sector.
Dangote made the comments while speaking as a guest lecturer at the Senior Executive course 38 at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, in Plateau state.
In November 2013, five Generation companies (Gencos) and 11 Distribution companies (Discos) were handed over to private investors with 60 per cent stakes in the former Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) utilities.

10 Qualities Of A Good Reletionship

Our most special relationships are those that bring us closer to others– our friends  partners, spouses, parents and children. Such a intimacy is the most rewarding and often the most demanding of human involvements.
The giving of ourselves to others, sharing thoughts, feelings, experiences, and sexual pleasures touches the essence of what it means to be human.
Like physical well-being,  psychological health is important too. Psychological health refers to both emotional and mental states, our feelings and thoughts. For a good mental health, we have to be involved in a good relationship which has a lot of care , love and respect.
Find out whether the relation that you are sharing today, matches with our characteristics:
  1. Trust: Partners are able to confide each other openly, knowing their confidences will be respected.
  2. Togetherness: In a healthy relationship, two people create a sense of intimacy and autonomy. They enjoy each others company but also pursue solitary interests.
  3. Expressiveness: Partners in healthy relationships say what they feel, need and desire.
  4. Staying Power: Couples in committed relationships keep their bond strong through tough times by proving that they will be there for each other.
  5. Security: Because a good relationship is strong enough to absorb conflict and anger, partners know they can express their feelings honestly. They also are ready to take  risk vulnerability for the sake of becoming closer.
  6. Laughter: Humor keeps things in perspective, always crucial in any sort of ongoing relationship.
  7. Support: Partners in good relationship always offer each other encouragement, comfort and acceptance.
  8. Physical affection: Sexual desire may fluctuate or diminish over years, but partners in loving, long term relationship usually retain some physical connection.
  9. Personal growth: In the best relationships partners are committed to bringing out the best in each other and have the others best interests at heart.
  10. Respect: Caring partners are bound to each others boundaries, need for personal space, and vulnerabilities. They do not take each other or relationship for granted.

Trump claims momentum in race's closing days

MIAMI — Donald Trump is still telling backers to ignore the polls — even the ones that show him gaining on Democrat Hillary Clinton.
"Don't believe it," Trump told an enthusiastic crowd at a bayside amphitheater on a hot November Wednesday. "Pretend we're slightly behind."
Buoyed by a new set of surveys showing him tied or even slightly ahead of Clinton, Trump and aides are expressing newfound optimism that's reflected in taunts of their critics and television ad buys in normally Democratic-leaning states.
Pledging victory in Florida — a key swing state — Trump told supporters "we are on the cusp of an incredible historic change" as Election Day approaches Tuesday.
Recent national polls averaged by RealClearPolitics give Clinton a narrow edge over Trump, around 2 points, well within margins of error, which Clinton had exceeded as recently as last week.
The race also appears to be tightening up in some battleground states, including Florida.
However, in terms of electoral votes — which will decide the contest — RealClearPolitics still gives Clinton sizable leads in states that add up to 226 electoral votes, while Trump has the edge in states that total 180; 270 are needed to win the presidency.
Trump and aides attribute their gains, in part, to negative views of Clinton, including last week's news that the FBI is reviewing new documents in connection with the former secretary of State's private email system. The Republican nominee also harps on WikiLeaks emails showing some of the inner workings of the Clinton campaign.
Clinton and aides said she has done nothing wrong and that FBI Director James Comey unfairly intruded into the campaign with his announcement about new information so close to Election Day. They also noted that the WikiLeaks emails were stolen from campaign officials, very possibly at the behest of the Russians.
Expressing renewed confidence, the Trump team announced new media buys in Democratic states Michigan and New Mexico. They also pointed to new, late Clinton ad buys in Michigan, and that the candidate herself plans to make an appearance in the state this week.
“The data clearly shows that Mr. Trump's message is reaching voters and we are expanding the map," said Brad Parscale, the campaign's digital director.
Other states targeted by Trump in the waning days of the race include Colorado, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia, Nevada and New Hampshire.
And, of course, Florida, where Trump supporters are cautiously optimistic, but warn against the prospect of voter fraud.
"I think he has a good shot — if everything is fair," said Maggie Bastanzuri, 50, a real estate broker in Miami. "If everybody behaves, let's put it that way."
Trump has also warned of alleged voter fraud, but he told the crowd in Miami that, "with your vote, you can beat the system — the rigged system."
During the Republican primaries, Trump constantly bragged about his latest poll numbers. He stopped doing that during the general election campaign as he slipped well behind Clinton, and he has begun telling people to ignore them and focus on getting supporters to the polls.
"Think of it," he said. "Six more days."
